Spring Cleaning!

Well, I am starting into the task of spring cleaning and honestly, I'm a little embarrassed to say, this is the first year I actually anticipate finishing it. Refreshing and exhausting! I can't wait to get things done, but I can see I am going to be having troubles with avoiding the biggest pitfall I always struggle with: trying to get everything done at once!

I guess it would be safe to say that I am somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to my housework. Often, I don't do anything if I don't feel I have the time or energy to do it properly, instead of just doing what I can.

Other times, I find myself so distracted by organizing while I'm trying to clean, that I get zero cleaning done, and create a pile of stuff I don't know what to do with!

This year, I have set my mind to changing things! My plan is to go room by room, instead of doing all the closets one day and then all the windows another day. No, I am just going to steadily plug away at each room in detail, all the while clearing out the clutter that makes me crazy and causes me unbelievable amounts of stress.

How do you tackle your spring cleaning challenge every year? Are you approaching it differently this year? What are your best spring cleaning tips?

  1. SimpleMom.net is having a spring cleaning hot spot challenge. Each Monday she's posting a challenge for the week with prizes!! That's where I'm starting with my spring cleaning.

(and I do a little at a time in a room until that room is complete and then move on. Spring cleaning with little ones is completely different isn't it?)
